What is a Buddy Programme?

The Buddy Programme will help you, as an international student to establish contact with a “mentor” who will guide you in your initial steps in Mauritius.

After submitting your application, the Mauritius Higher Education Desk, in collaboration with the university in which you have enrolled in, will link you up with a mentor.

Enroll in the Buddy Programme

Mentor

The Higher Education Desk in collaboration with higher education institutions, is looking for students from the second year onwards, to act as mentors to enroll in a three-month Buddy Programme.

The benefits of becoming a buddy include:

  • being an ambassador of your Higher Education Institution
  • gaining volunteer experience
  • developing personal and interpersonal skills and
  • helping international students to settle down in Mauritius.

Mentors will be issued a certificate of recognition for services rendered to the Mauritian Higher Education sector.
